Smt Sowmya

Review

It was a pleasant concert by Mrs Sowmya with a rarely heard yadhukulakambodhi raga elaboration. Edayagathi in Chalanaatai was impressive with beautiful swaraprastharas. The RTP in Bhairavi was neatly rendered and ragamalika swaras were creative being a part of
the koraippu. The accompanists together made it a very enjoyable concert indeed

It is a very good concert with classical values and was true to the tradition. Pantuvarali and Anandha Bhairavi - Manasa Guruguha were a good start. Chala Natta was well delivered with the eduppu and pakkavadhyam ably supported. Yadukula Kambhoji raga was full of bhavam and subtle gamakam, which enriched the raga bhavam. RTP in Bhairavi was well delivered and the ragamalika swarams were nice to hear. Light raga selections for the tukdas were a wonderful combination too. Violin and Mridangam artist were at their best and Kanjira was also very supportive and enhancing the performance

The concert was great. It was pleasant to hear Yadukulakambhoji, rarely heard nowadays that too with elaborate alapana. The RTP in Bhairavi was nice, especially the delivery of ragamalika without breaking the swaras. I enjoyed the Chalanattai song too. Ending tukdhas, especially
the Khamas with the sangathi’s that were done with ‘Radhe’ were very nice. The pakkavadhyam support enhanced the whole performance
